1.  Configuring the Start Menu

1. Open the start menu with the Windows Key or Control + Escape
2. Press Escape
3. Press Shift + F10
4. Cursor down to "properties" and press Enter.  A dialog will open displaying the options for the Taskbar and Start Menu
5. Use the down arrow to select "classic start menu"
6. Press the tab key one time to access the "customize" button
7. Press the spacebar
8. Use the tab key five times to access the start menu options
9. use the down arrow to locate "use personalized menus"
10. Uncheck this option with the spacebar
11. Tab to OK and press the spacebar
12. Tab to OK once more and press the spacebar

2.  Configuring the Taskbar

1. Open the start menu with the Windows Key or Control + Escape
2. Cursor down to "Control Panel" and press enter
3. Cursor down to "Taskbar and Start Menu" and press enter
4. A dialog will open displaying the options for the Taskbar and Start Menu.  There are a series of checkboxes within this property sheet.
5. Tab to "lock taskbar." This option should be checked.
6. Tab to "keep the taskbar on top of other Windows." This option should be checked.
7. Tab to "show quick launch." This option should not be checked.
8. Tab to "show clock." This option should be checked.
9. Tab to the OK button and press the spacebar

3.  Configuring the Folder Options

1. Open the Start menu with the Windows Key or Control + Escape
2. Cursor down to "settings" and press enter
3. Cursor down to "Control Panel" and press enter
4. Cursor down to "folder options" and press enter
5. Use the down arrow one time to select the radio button labeled "Use Windows Classic Folders."
6. Press the tab key to access the next set of radio buttons: use the up arrow to select "browse each folder in the same window"
7. Press the tab key to access the next set of radio buttons: use the down arrow to select "double click to open an item (single click to select)
8. Press Control + Tab to move to the second property sheet labeled "view"
9. Press the tab key twice to access the tree view of options
10. Press the letter "S" until the option "show pop-up descriptions for folder and desktop items" is located.  Make sure this option is unchecked.
11. Tab to "OK" and press the spacebar

4.  Setting the Windows Color Scheme

1. Open the Start Menu
2. Press Enter on Settings
3. Press Enter on Control Panel
4. Cursor down to "display" and press enter
5. Press Control + Tab three times to access the "appearance" property sheet
6. Press the letter "W" until you hear "Windows Classic style"
7. Tab to "OK" and press the spacebar

5.  Configuring My Computer and Windows Explorer to display a list

1. Press Windows Key + E to open Windows Explorer
2. Open the view menu
3. Cursor down to "list" and press enter
4. Open the Tools menu with Alt + T
5. Cursor down to folder options and press enter
6. Press Control + Tab one time to access the view property sheet
7. Press the spacebar on the "apply to all folders" button
8. Tab to "OK" and press the spacebar

6.  Configuring the Menus of Internet Explorer

1. Open the tools menu of Microsoft Internet Explorer
2. Cursor down to "Internet Options" and press enter
3. Press Control + Shift + Tab to access the "advanced" property sheet
4. Press the letter "E" until the checkbox labeled "Enable Personalized Favorites menu" is located
5. Use the spacebar to uncheck this option
6. Press Enter

7.  Disabling window effects

1. Open the Start Menu with WINDOWS KEY or CTRL-Escape
2. Press ENTER on "settings"
3. Press ENTER on "Control Panel"
4. Press the letter "S" until you hear "system" and press ENTER
5. Press CTRL-TAB three times to access the "Advanced" property sheet
6. Press TAB until you locate the first "settings' button
7. Use DOWN ARROW to select the "custom" radio button
8. Press TAB one time to access the list of checkboxes. 
9. Use DOWN ARROW to move through the options within the list
10. Uncheck all checked items with SPACEBAR. 
11. When you are sure all of the options are unchecked, TAB to the OK button and press SPACEBAR
12. TAB to the OK button within the System Properties dialog and press SPACEBAR
13. Close the Control Panel with ALT-F4
